About
The Community Engagement Lab and Savi Ed Labs are thrilled to announce the inaugural Sonic Futures Teaching Fellowship, a competitive popular music education internship designed for aspiring and recent music education graduates in Vermont.
This is a unique, resume-building opportunity to dive hands-on into the world of popular music education and modern band pedagogy.
Experience
As a Sonic Futures Fellow, you will gain valuable experience by:
Teaching and Assisting: Observing, supporting, and actively helping to teach the Sonic Futures Rock + Pop Modern Band Summer Camp for students in grades 8-12. Gain skills in popular music pedagogy, music technology and sound engineering.
Unique Lab Opportunity: Gaining a valuable, real-world perspective by working alongside a concurrent continuing education graduate course, "How To Modern Band: Approaches to Popular Music Education."
Expert Mentorship: Working directly with nationally recognized and celebrated popular music educators, Steve Holley and Brian Boyes.

When: June 21 - 26 2026
Location: The Creative Campus at Goddard in Plainfield, VT.
Stipend: A $1000 stipend + room and board.
Open to current Vermont music education students and recent graduates of a music education degree who are not currently employed as a full time teacher by a public school district.
Application Deadline: SUNDAY MARCH 29 by 11:59 pm.
